One more First!

Since my first post was about "firsts" I thought I would follow-up with my first sweater...a top down cardigan for my granddaughter Addison, due to arrive on or before March 8. It was made with Cascade Kaleidoscope D.K. Cherub Collection. For my very first sweater, I'm pretty happy with it. The one thing I did wrong was follow the pattern exactly, forgetting that I am a left-handed knitter (well, not forgetting that I'm left-handed but forgetting to reverse the directions). In any case, it is still a very cute sweater, even though it buttons like a boy sweater! I'm sure Addison won't mind. I got the buttons at a quilt shop in Wisconsin and they worked perfectly.

First blog, first post, first grandbaby!

Well, I finally did it....I am starting my very own blog! I have enjoyed reading everyone elses so I thought - why not!

I will be a grandma for the first time in about 5 weeks so I'm sure I will be sharing lots of photos and stories and hopefully lots of baby sweaters and afghans! This is my daughter and her husband awaiting the arrival of Addison!

I learned to knit when I was 9 years old but never really called myself a knitter until this past year when I signed up for a sock class with a friend of mine and got hooked! Now my knitting consists of things that are not all "square." By reading other blogs and being on Ravelry, my desire to knit has come back with a vengence!!
